About Microgreens

What are Microgreens?

Microgreens are the 2nd phase in the plant's life cycle and 10-14 days old. The plant never has more key nutrients, minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants than around the 14-day mark in the microgreen phase! All plants go through this phase, but the most popular microgreens are broccoli, kale, radish, pea shoots, and sunflower. 

Health Benefits

Microgreens are packed with nutrients.  While their nutrient contents vary slightly, most varieties tend to be rich in potassium, iron, zinc, magnesium and copper.  Microgreens are also a great source of beneficial plant compounds like antioxidants.  They also help ward off digestive ailments, help regulate blood sugar levels, promote healthy skin and eyes and may help with weight loss!

Ways to enjoy Microgreens

  • Use them in pizzas, soups, curries, omelets, stir-fries, pasta and other hot dishes.
  • Use them in salad or as a garnish!
  • Blend them into smoothies.
  • Use them as an alternative to lettuce to top burgers, tacos or in wraps!
